  For our next ‘Inspired By’ series, we highlight the work of notable artist and sculptor, Nicole Cherubini. Nicole’s work references traditional ceramics and sculptures, but it is her unique use of objects and unexpected bases that modernizes her pieces. Her ingenuity in combining old and new makes for a collection of distinctive abstract pieces. Nicole is known for blending the line between craft, decor, and art. Her work uses techniques of ornamentation, assemblage, and coiling to meld the visual aesthetic of modern sculpture while keeping the historical use of the materials intact. RITUAL 4: Living Consciously

Occasionally I get a little bit of a lost feeling, or feel out of focus. Most people feel a sense of ‘unconscious living’ at some point - whether that’s finding ourselves in a job that isn’t fulfilling, filling our days with busy work instead of working towards a goal, wishing we could spend more time with loved ones, or simply feeling stuck in a rut. It’s these moments that make me reset and focus on living consciously.Living consciously can mean a variety of things to different people, but what is truly boils down to is making conscious choices rather than doing things without thinking. Inspired By: Artist, Lynne Golob Gelfman

 One of the most constant sources of inspiration for me when developing MAVE was art. In this 'Inspired By' series, we will be sharing people, places, and things that inspire us here at MAVE. It was Constantin Brancusi's Bird in Space that inspired the design of MAVE's first product: The Razor. The streamlined, sculptural design of the razor mimics that of the slender sculptures.
